- In the exhibition titled “Narrations of Freedom. The Academy of Athens pays tribute to 1821”, which was organized by the Academy of Athens to honor the 200th anniversary of the National Palingenesis, the Mariolopoulos-Kanaginis Foundation for the Environmental Sciences participated both with exhibits and in its organization. This exhibition presented the publishing activities of the thinkers of liberation, the actions of the Society of Friends (Philiki Etaireia) and the work of the Philhellenes from the end of the 18th century to the Greeks’ struggles for liberation and the Navarino Sea Battle in 1827. A part of the exhibition was dedicated to the National poet, Dionysius Solomos, while the narration was completed with a reference to folk traditions, songs, music, musical instruments and traditional costumes. Amongst the valuable exhibits of the Academy of Athens is also included an authentic manuscript of the Map of Greece by Rhigas Velestinlis. Also in display were the only surviving original prints of the second edition in Corfu (1798) of Rhigas’ Thourios and his Patriotic Anthem as well as of the Laudatory Hymn from all Greece to General Bonaparte by Christopher Perraivos.
This exhibition in the premises of the Palace of the Academy of Athens highlighted the national, cultural and social significance of the Revolution.

In a prominent position of the exhibition was placed the MKF exhibit, “Expedition du Morée”.
- The exhibition was inaugurated with great success by the Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Panayiotis Pikrammenos on March 30, 2022 with the participation of many public figures and guests. The exhibition ran continuously until October 15, 2022 and it was visited by thousands of visitors from all over Greece and abroad.

- In the context of the activities of the Mariolopoulos-Kananginis Foundation for Environmental Sciences, the Secretary of the Foundation’s Board, Professor Emeritus at the UOA Ms. Polyxeni Nicolopoulou-Stamati delivered 3 speeches.
- On 14/4/2022 at the People’s University of Elefsina with a speech titled: “Man, Environment, and Universe: A Reciprocal Relationship”,
- οn 23/5/2022 at the Open University of Aspropyrgos Municipality with a speech titled: “Climate Change and Virus Infections”,
- and on 27/5/2022 she was a guest speaker at the 12th Health Conference of Messinia with a speech titled: “Environment and Health: Challenges and Opportunities for a better tomorrow”.
- On July 4, 2022, during the opening ceremony of the International Radiation Symposium 2022 which was co-organized by the University of Thessaloniki and the Mariolopoulos-Kananginis Foundation for Environmental Sciences, there took place the awarding of the “WMO Professor Mariolopoulos Trust Fund Award 2022” by the WMO representative, Professor Juerg Luterbacher and the Chairman of the Foundation and Secretary General of the Academy of Athens, Professor Christos Zerefos.
The 2022 award was presented in half to the following young scientists:- To Georgios Varlas for the study “Investigating the impact of atmosphere–wave–ocean interactions on a Mediterranean tropical-like cyclone”
- And to Kaspar R. Daellenbach for the study “Sources of particulate-matter air pollution and its oxidative potential in Europe”.

- On July 4-8, 2022, the “International Radiation Symposium 2022” which was co-organized by AUTH and the Mariolopoulos-Kananginis Foundation for Environmental Sciences was concluded with great success. The symposium took place at the conference center of Thessaloniki Concert Hall with the participation of more than 400 distinguished scientists from all over the world. At this International Symposium, announcements of significant scientific value were made regarding modern methods of monitoring solar and other radiations and there were presented new standards for estimating changes in the total radiation system on the planet. The scientific conclusions are based on both ground and satellite observations and they take on great importance due to the current climate crisis.

- Govedarou Art Gallery and Mariolopoulos-Kanaginis Foundation for the Environmental Sciences co-organized a group art exhibition titled: “Climate Change: Man and Natural Disasters”.
The opening ceremony took place on October 13, 2022 when there is the celebration of the International Day for Natural Disaster Risk Reduction, which was established by the UN General Assembly in 1989.
In his greeting, MKF Chairman and General Secretary of the Academy of Athens, C. Zerefos pointed out that this exhibition is coming to embrace Art with Science in such a timely and serious problem and it is an initiative for community awareness through Art.

- Invited Speech titled: “Climate change: It threatens children in particular”

Professor Polyxeni Nicolopoulou Stamati was an invited speaker at the 18th Conference to deliver a speech titled “The dynamics of environmental effects on the child: developments, emergent hazards and prevention”. The conference was held in Cyprus and it took place at the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics under the patronage of the Honorable Minister of Health, Mr. Michael Hatzipatelas.
The conference was organized by the National “Environment & Child Health” Committee www.paidi.com.cy/seminar-15-10-2022 , the Cyprus Pediatric Society and the Cyprus Prenatal Medicine Society.
