The foundation assigned the writing of the biography to Dimitris G. Panagiotopoulos researcher and historian of the Documentation Agricultural University of Athens. The author successfully used the extensive archives of Petros Kanaginis which are treasured at the Foundation. The publication contains the landmarks of the spiritual, professional and public service of P. Kanaginis during a most disturbed period in the history of Greece from the end of the Balkan wars through the Asia Minor catastrophe and the establishment of the Committee for Refugee Settlement of the Greek populations (expelled from Turkey) and the important contributions of P. Kanaginis in the enormous task of the refugee settlement.
