The first prize was awarded to the following two scientists :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dr. G. Myhre for his paper entitled : &#8220;New estimates of radiative forcing due to well mixed greenhouse gases&#8221; of the University of Oslo, Norway.<\/li>\n<li>Dr. D. Balis for his paper entitled : &#8220;Study of the structure of the lower troposphere over Athens using a backscattering LIDAR during the MEDCAPHOT-TRACE experiment: Measurements over a suburban area&#8221; of the University of Thessaloniki, Greece.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Honorary award was given for the paper :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>&#8220;Role of lee waves in the formation of solid polar stratospheric clouds : Case studies from February 1997&#8221; by E.D.
